This week I am pleased to introduce you to Laura McKowen. Laura had a long, successful career in public relations and the Mad Men–esque drinking culture of advertising. After getting sober, she quickly became recognized as a fresh voice in recovery, beloved for her soulful and irreverent writing online and in print. She now leads sold out retreats and courses, teaching people to how to say yes to a bigger life. Laura is the author of the bestselling memoir, We Are The Luckiest: The Surprising Magic of a Sober Life. This discussion dives into the clarity and potential that can be unearthed when living a sober life. We talk about our intentions behind drinking, and the many messages that we've received around alcohol over the years.
This week I welcome my old friend Vasavi Kumar, who works as a therapist and business strategist. It won’t take you long to get a feel for Vassi’s incredible capacity for speaking candidly, her energy is infectious. She’s authentically herself, refreshingly honest and straight speaking. All this leads to a powerful conversation on her upbringing, cultural background, cocaine, relationships, mental health and so much more. Seriously, we cover a lot of ground in this one. I’m so grateful I can bring you her story which is ultimately one of incredible growth and self-awareness that we can all draw inspiration from. This one is a MUST Listen.
What happens when you wake up and realize you aren’t happy in your relationship? What if you feel like you’re outgrowing your partner? What if you’re outgrowing your old life? As we go deeper in our journey toward our inner truth we often find that our old patterns, habits and relationships need to shift. This can bring up a lot of anxiety and tension especially if we have had codependent patterns. Part of our healing is learning how to honour our growth while navigating our relationship with others. Part of our healing is leaning into the discomfort and uncertainty that comes up when we let our relationships shift, change and maybe even end.
I’m so excited to introduce this week’s episode with my best friend and love – Kylie McBeath. Love, Service, and Wisdom. Those are the three words that Kylie lives by. Her greatest mission is to help more people unleash their greatness, and find truth and alignment in life through harnessing their best resource: their physical, mental, emotional and spiritual well-being. She is also a Certified Health Coach and Transformational Life Coach and she works to empower women to move through shame, release anger, and align with their most aligned + powerful selves. During this convo Kylie not only shares her relationship journey but also her journey as an entrepreneur and some amazing insights for how to grow into your voice, truth, integrity, and most true self.
This episode was such an honour to record and is one I could go on and on about for hours! In it I talk with Terri Cole, the New York-based, licensed psychotherapist, relationship expert and founder of Real Love Revolution & Boundary Bootcamp. Terri uses practical psychology, eastern mindfulness and harnesses the power of intention to create sustainable, positive behavioral change i.e. true transformation. Tune in as we talk about how childhood lessons about life form the blueprint of how we navigate our adult relationships around love. In addition to the highlights below are some amazing and practical tips on how to start understanding your own story so that you can heal old wounds and set new standards for what you actually want to create in your life.
