“Nature loves courage. You make the commitment and nature will respond to that commitment by removing impossible obstacles. Dream the impossible dream and the world will not grind you under, it will lift you up. This is the trick. This is what all these teachers and philosophers who really counted, who really touched the alchemical gold, this is what they understood. This is the shamanic dance in the waterfall. This is how magic is done. By hurling yourself into the abyss and discovering it’s a feather bed.”
― Terence McKenna
I read this quote recently and I got goosebumps. Every cell in my body reverberated with a recognition of this “knowing” of how it all works.
Years ago, I would’ve called this woo-woo. I would have discounted it as BS and spiritual mumbo jumbo. And while spirituality can be used to bypass the pains of our lives and the realities of the human experience, there are also spiritual truths that all the mystics and the core of many world religions lead us to… this “connection” to something greater. This recognition of God (or whatever your word is) in one another. This trust that when we answer the call of the soul, we are somehow taken care of. The seas part. The impossible lines up. And you are in heaven, but it is on earth.
